Shortly afterwards, Jennifer received a second certification from the highly credited National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Massage therapy education
Jennifer decided that adding massage therapy along with a results-driven fitness/sports/nutritional program would exponentially be beneficial. So she attended massage school at the National Holistic Institute in 2009. She also has her state certification as a CMT from the California Massage Therapy Council. Jennifer is trained in Swedish, Deep tissue, MFT, Trigger point, Passive Flexibility, Shiatsu & Thai massage modalities. She also has been trained to do a Range of motion & Postural deviation assessment. She assesses the client’s goals & medical history in order to suggest the best modalities to use. Jennifer’s specialty is on improving flexibility, relieving tight / sore muscles & a sense of well-being! Three of the most important goals that allow the body to heal itself, prevent injuries & allow the body to push itself pass thresholds in fitness & sports.
Experience
Jennifer’s ambition to become a personal trainer began innately from her pure enjoyment of sports. She played competitive U.S.T.A tennis tournaments starting at age 10 and continued to play through high school and college. She still plays competitive tennis. Jennifer also enjoys running marathons, triathlons and surfing.
As we all know, sports and fitness conditioning exercises activates the demand for discipline from all aspects of the mind, body and soul. Strengthening her discipline has had an empowering and enlightening impact in all aspects of her life.
Jennifer’s motivation to help others with fitness and wellness goals perpetuated not only from her experience with sports and fitness, but from her own health challenges. Her determination helped her find ways to combat a low immune system, fatigue, depression and anxiety. She sees her mind/body challenges as a blessing in disguise, as they taught her how to take better care of herself.
This journey led to her life purpose, which is to inspire others to overcome challenges, strengthen fitness conditioning, improve health & enhance a better sense of well-being. A healthier lifestyle through fitness, nutrition, positive perspectives, humor and doing the things in life that are fulfilling to the soul plays a huge role in improving wellness, general fitness and sport performances. A healthier lifestyle helps to maintain homeostasis among the three most basic and yet complex human elements (mind, body & soul) When one of these elements becomes out of balance the other two elements are challenged. The reverse effect can take place too, where if you strengthen one element it will help balance the other two elements. Jennifer will share all her experiences & walk the talk with you.
