THE TOP 5 BENEFITS OF FAT LOSS
Ok, so you know you want to lose fat. My question to you this morning is a simple one. Have you really, deeply thought about why you want to do this?
I know what you’re thinking…
That’s a stupid question Patrick, I want to lose fat so I can fit in my clothes better and see that scale number go in the right direction.
While all of that may be true, let me give you some lesser thought of benefits that can propel you forward with a new fiery level of motivation!

This is a big one. Just think of how this will affect every single area of your life. This one reason literally covers about every area of your life, but I still want to complete this list :). Your fat is greedy. When we have excess body fat, it steals vital nutrients that are supposed to be used by other cells to sustain and regenerate. In doing so, it can drain your energy really really fast. Lean bodies are just more energetic because they don’t have as much fat committing grand larceny all over the body.

In a recent study I read, weight loss in general has been shown to both reduce brain damage and lower chances of being diagnosed with alzheimer’s later in life. Even better than that, “In a recent study a team of researchers looked at 17 obese women prior to bariatric surgery and found that their brains metabolized sugars faster than the brains of a control group of women at a normal weight. The women underwent cognitive function tests before their surgery as well as after. The results show that after surgery, the obese women showed improvement in the troubling brain activity seen prior to going under the knife, and they performed better on their cognitive function tests—especially in the area of executive function, which is used during planning and organization. There are countless studies backing this up. I realize that this can be a hard one to accept and I’m not at all suggesting that ALL lean people are smarter and make more money, we’re just dealing with the statistics! “In May, the average American worker earned $23.41 an hour, according to the Labor Department. Assuming three hours of exercise per week, enough to satisfy the minimum level used in the study, a typical worker’s time spent huffing and puffing is valued by the labor market at $70.23. His extra pay over a 40-hour work week is worth $84.28–about 20% more.” This in a study done by Vasilios Kosteas of Cleveland State University.
5. Everything Tastes Better
As you settle into your new fat-burning lifestyle that includes eating healthily and working out regularly, you’ll notice something. Because you no longer overeat or overindulge in sugary and carby treats, you will begin enjoying every bite that you take. As the bite sits in your mouth, you won’t swallow it before tasting or chewing. You will take your time and really savor the flavor.
And when you do start enjoying the flavors, your brain will have time to register when you’re full and cut you off before you stuff yourself with more calories than you can burn. Do this regularly and you’ll lose even more fat!
This is partly because your feel full hormone (also called the starvation hormone) leptin, will be sending the proper signals and will not take a nap (leptin resistance) when you need it the most.
